It was already starting to get close to winter. It was getting nippier than it had ever been that fall, and now people walking up and down the streets in town either had heavy coats, mittens, or the whole winter outfit on them, walking in warm bundles.
However, this wasn't the full story for one young man that walked down the street that day, awe in the eyes of sapphire. His blonde hair, spiked richly, waved as the wind blew ferociously, and his hands were shoved into the pockets of his light blue and black fleece, zipped up to his chin.
His eyes were joyously happy, not only for seeing the town for the first time, but also because of waking up this morning on Willow Creek Stables owned by the beautiful stable owner, Elizabeth, and having breakfast with her this morning. Stopping outside his destination, he read the deep black letters in the rich oak-wood sign, "Roan Humane Society". It was definitely the place. He leaned up against the stone walls, balancing his body with one foot on the ground, the other against the walls, and looked up and around him. 'I hope she's coming,' he thought with worry, wondering where in the world his love, Elizabeth, could be.

Liz hurried down the street, she'd had an incident with a horse. Chealse decided to escape, and run around the property, Liz of course had to cath her. Her jeans were hugging her legs, and she still wore her riding boots, but they were clean, her shirt was covered by her pink ,and white coat. Her hands were in her pockets, and her ears were protected by a earband. Her cheecks were read, not because she was embarressed, but because it was so cold.
Snow lightly fell from the darkened sky, she looked around, her hair was let down, her slight curls bouncing a bit. Her fingertips were numb, she hated winter, not only because it was cold, but for many reasons. One she could not keep her body temp up to well, another because that ruined riding outside, also because it was just cold! She walked a bit faster, and looked to the side of her, she stopped realizing she was here.
She saw Marc and threw her arms around him, "Well hello stranger, sorry about being late. Chealse decided to get out, and run around." She stopped shivering for a moment, before she started again. "I hate winter, I freeze half to death."

As the snow started to fall, Marc extended a hand out in front of him, returning both feet to the ground. A light smile enveloped his tan face, and his mood became even more cheerful. Though he detested cold weather greatly, snow was one of his many joys, that and rain. "Yuki..." he said lightly, saying the japanese word for "snow", as the smiled widened.
Elizabeth's arms wrapped around him, and he held her tightly, stifling a chuckle on how much clothing she was wearing in the winter already. It was still the beginning, and bound to get colder. "Oh, Chealse again? Who could blame her, the snow looks gorgeous," he said, holding her to him and kissing her cheek lightly. Her cheeks were cold and red, and he laughed at her second comment. "And it's to get colder! We'll need to find you better winter gear, love. Either that, or I must hold you whenever we go out!" he laughed, and then smiled, releasing her tenderly. He walked to the door, and pushed it open, and bowed, "You first, my fair lady."

Liz looked up at the snow, "Yuki? Whats that?" She walked through the door, and removed her band that was on her ears. She sighed, "I know, I need to go out myself, and go shopping like most girls do. I've been so busy I've not had time." Liz was thinking about going out, but never had the time, she'd been so busy with the horses she barley had time for herself.
Marc had not explained why they were here, everytime she came here she fell in love with everything. She got Saya, and Kay from this place. She waited for Marc, "So what are we doing here?" She looked at him for a moment, then to the snow outside. "I hate snow, I hate it." Liz felt her ears and smiled, for some reason she had no feel in them, never did, even when it was 90 degrees outside, she had no feeling.
"I bet my ears are bright red huh? I have no feeling there, nothing even in hot weather." She thought it was strange, but cool at the same time. She heard the whimpers of dogs, and crys of cats. She looked around, fish tanks full of fish, and some with mice, snakes. She of all people liked snakes, her whole family has a fear of them. She walked over to a tank witch seemed to have nothing in it, but it did. There was a huge turantula in it, she hated spiders, she backed up, and intertwined her arms with Marc's, "There is a huge spider over there, kinda creepy."

Marc smiled down towards her, and said, "Yuki means snow in japanese." He followed her delicate form into the shop, the sounds of animals reaching his ears as the smile on his face brightened. He loved all animals, and hearing all the puppies and kittens, he couldn't help but feel excited. "The snow is great, love. You just have to have a love for it. I love you no matter what you hate," he said, grasping her hand as he walked forward, walking nearer to the puppies and the kittens that were near the side of the humane society. As she intertwined her arms with his, he looked towards the turantula, and kissed the top of her head. "I'll protect you, besides, we're not here to see the spiders," he said, feeling a shiver run up his spine, since he wasn't too fond of spiders either. As he stood in front of the puppies and kittens, he looked towards Elizabeth, holding her hands, and said, "I wanted to start off our relationship with something that we'd both be able to look after and take care of, Elizabeth. I wanted to get you something that would please you, and I thought you'd like to have another member of your stables." He looked down into one of the cages, holding two puppies, and the other cage, holding two kittens. "I wasn't sure which you'd like... so I picked a few for you to choose from," he said, blushing faintly. "Pick any one you'd like."(Here're the pics of the animals!: www.gate.net/~luckypup/pshuskies.jpgwww.thecatconnection.com/news_june04/june04asset_ginnykabuki.jpg)

Liz smiled, and looked at the cages. "Awww...there so cute." She looked at Marc, "Are you sure?" She looked bac kto the cage, one of the kittens stuck it's paw out, and meowed. She could not decide, "I can't decide....what do you think? It'll be yours too." She looked at the puppys, who were sleeping even if people were loking at them.

Marc grimaced, and looked towards each of the animals. As one of the husky pups, a black and white one, with folds at the tip of his ears, stirred, the kitten's small mew caught his attention. The kitten was all white with large brown ears, brown-yellow eyes, and a tiger stripe pattern on the top of his brown head.
Marc's heart melted as the puppy lazily walked over to the door of the cage, jumping up and resting his paws on the top of the gate, looking at Marc with sapphire eyes. Marc gently scrubbed the pup's head, and played with the kitten's paw, trying to make a decision. He looked towards the desk, towards the price sign, and an eyebrow thingyed.
Pulling away from the animals for a moment, he reached into his back pocket, and revealed his wallet. Opening up the green wallet, he looked inside to see many messy twenties, tens, and even a fifty. He reached back into his pocket, and found the check-balance book. He had plenty left in his account, but he wouldn't allow himself to get a weekly allowance for a small amount of time. "Elizabeth, what do you think of these two?" he said, motioning to the puppy and to the kitten.

Liz looked at Marc as he said 'Two', "Are you sure? I can pick one, well we." She really did not want to pin this on him, not all of it anyways. She looked to the puppy as it whimpered quitely, she smiled abit, then looked back to Marc.
She looked around, she'd buy all the stuff for them, the collar, leash, bed for the cat and dog, play toys, food, bowls all of that.

"If you like 'em, they're ours," he said, a confident smile on his tanned face. He looked towards the kitten and the puppy, a bright beam on his face. His heart melted for the folds in the puppy's ears, and the kitten was too cute to resist.
"Mwewr," the kitten mewed, and Marc looked towards the small bundle, his smile pleasant and joyful. He was already growing very fond of both of them. "C'mere little one," he said, hoisting up the small kitten into his large hands, and gently tucked him into his chest. The kitten's purring vibrated his chest, and Marc smiled towards Elizabeth.
Walking over to the counter, Marc looked towards the woman standing behind there, looking at a bunch of papers, and said, "Excuse me, miss, but we'd like to adopt this kitten and the husky over there." As the woman looked up, Marc looked behind him, and said to Elizabeth, "Right?"

Liz smiled, and picked up the black and white huskey. She let it lick her nose, and held it close, feeling it's tail wagging. She nodded comming up becide Marc, "Yes, thats right." The puppy looked at the kitten, and barked abit, tail still wagging.
Liz stroked the puppy, and held it close, "It's so cute." She wanted to hug Marc but could not at the moment.

The receptionist rolled her eyes, and then pulled out a small packet of papers. "Sign those and fill them out, and if you're approved, you can take them home today." She went back to working on her desk, and Marc settled the kitten in one arm, while grabbing a pen in his other hand.
"Name.... Marc Toshino and Elizabeth Katch..." Marc read aloud, not caring if he was disturbing her. He continued on with their ages, where they lived, and their occupation, and filled out the sheet, signing his sloppy signature at the bottom of the page. "All you, love," he said, smiling, as he offered to take the pup while she signed the papers.

Liz saw the lady roll her eyes, she galred at her for a moment, before smiling and handing the puppy to Marc. She grabbed the pen, and signed her name, it was neat, very neat. She took the puppy back, and it licked her face again, she looked over the paper, "Here you go ma'am." Hopfully the lady would not give her trouble.

The lady looked up again, her hand stopping the furious writing it was commensing just the moment before, and looked towards Marc and Elizabeth. She took the papers, and looked them over for a moment, checking out each and every detail that Marc and Elizabeth had signed in.
"It looks fine..." she said slowly, looking towards the puppy and the kitten now in their arms, "So you can take them. Would you like some supplies to go with them, or just those two?"
Marc looked to Elizabeth, and the puppy in her arms, and said, "A leash, a collar, and some food and toys, I think. Also, could we get a nametag for the dog?" The lady nodded, and Marc adjusted the kitten in his arms, trying to squirm up to his neck. "We need a name for them...." Marc said.
"Both are males, if I remember correctly." the lady interupted.
"Um...." Marc replied, looking towards the kitten, and then the dog. "There's Shizo.... Marrin... Landon.... Adrian..."

Liz smiled, "I can pay for that stuff Marc." She took the kitten this time, "You name the dog." She smiled, and looked at the kitten, she alredy had some of a name for it, 'Moo.' She just needed something else to go with it. She thought for a moment, thinking to the horses names, "Bug! We can name the kitten Moo-bug. It's cute, what do you think?" She hoped he did not mind, and he liked it.

Marc, shocked by her taking the kitten, quickly scooped up the small puppy from her arms, looking at him as he licked his cheek a few times. "Are you sure? I mean, I was the one who wanted to get you them, Elizabeth," Marc said, his brows upturning because he was a bit worried.
The puppy barked, his ears flattening to his head, and then straightening, the tips of his ears folded down. Marc's eyes melted, and he scrubbed the top of the husky's head with the palm of his hand. 'Like Adrian...' he thought, thinking about his old dog that had died shortly before he left his own farm for this one. "Shizo," he called softly, and the pup's sapphire eyes stared into his, and Marc smiled. "Shizo.... and... Moo-bug" he said, a smile on his face. "It's very cute."
